Kindergarten registration is now open for the 2026-2027 school year! To be eligible for kindergarten, students must be 5 years old by August 1, 2026 and must be potty trained. Click the link below to register your child!
SWE will host Kindergarten Round Up on April 16th from 5:30-7:00! This evening provides opportunities for incoming kindergarten students to explore SWE, tour a kindergarten classroom, meet SWE staff, enjoy a snack in the SWE cafeteria, and much more. Students will also complete incoming kindergarten testing at the event. Please plan to join us for this exciting evening!

The staff at Southwestern Elementary School possess an uncompromising dedication to always strive to be the best educational support we can be for all of our students. It is my belief that an educator's mission is to make learning enjoyable and exciting. If students look forward to attending school, they will want to learn. It takes a team of caring and understanding people working together to be the absolute best school for all of our students, which is what each student deserves.

The Southwestern Consolidated School District Board of Education appointed Dr. Jamison Wilkins as Superintendent during a Special Meeting on May 30, 2024. He earned his doctorate from Ball State University and is fully licensed as a superintendent in the State of Indiana. He joins us after 14 years of leadership in Northwest Allen County Schools. With his wife and four daughters present, Dr. Wilkins expressed his great excitement at becoming the district's new leader. Board President, Derrek Tennell, said, "We feel very fortunate to have a new leader of the caliber of Dr. Wilkins. He brings decades of experience in all levels of education. He is a great addition to the Southwestern Community and we look forward to working with him."
Dr. Wilkins will assume his responsibilities on July 1, 2024.
